It was a busy day at the GFL Centre in Brooklyn as the Avon View Girls' Birthplace of Hockey Tournament kicked into gear.  The host Avalanche, Halifax West, Citadel and KVHS all skated away with wins in their first games of the tourney.  Tomorrow we get started at 9:00 am as the Avalanche take on The Citadel Phoenix in what is sure to be a great game.  Come check out the action as it runs from 9 am - 9 pm

The Birthplace of Hockey is set to kick off at 2 pm Friday afternoon as the host Avon View Avalanche take on the Lockview Dragons.  In addition to these two squads, the tournament welcomes back two-time defending champion Halifax West Warriors, JL Illsley Judges, Middleton Monarchs and the Citadel Phoenix.  An special warm welcome to the two teams crossing the border from New Brunswick this weekend -Tantramar Titans from Sackville, and first time attendees, KVHS Blue Knights from Quispamsis.  Come check out the action at the GFL Centre in Brooklyn!
